Who is Valerie Moore?
Born and brought up in London, Valerie moved to the Dorset area some 25 years ago
Starting her first business at the age of 17, Val says I made all the mistakes in the book - and a few that aren't even there. That was at a time when business advisers did not exist. I learnt the hard way. There were accountants, solicitors and bank managers, but no-one who had the breadth of knowledge that incorporated business advisors now have. Much of that knowledge and empathy can only be gained by having "been there, seen it, done it"
Her career has spanned accountancy and sales training, exhibition & seminar organisation, publishing and property management.
She writes and presents training courses on all aspects of business and is a sought after speaker.
Prior to going freelance in 1994 she was director of Dorset Enterprise.
Valerie has a special empathy with women and is president of the Women´s Enterprise Forum and she is actively involved in advising and training those organisations who are setting up and running childcare provision - an up and coming industry.
Valerie also works with young business people as Vice-Chairman and mentor for the Prince's Trust.
A great believer in networking she is a member of a number of organisations including being a Fellow of the Institute of Business Advisors; Associate of the Chartered Management Institute and the special focus group Women in Management and Networks.
Widely travelled, she enjoys seeing new places and indulging her interest in history, archaeology, photography and the theatre.
She also enjoys good food and wine. Fortunately all the above past-times are also enjoyed by her partner Philip.
And Associates
Valerie has developed an extensive network of friends, colleagues, associates and clients and is also able to access assistance from local business organisations and her own Institute - the Institute of Business Advisors.
